New York, NY. 07/04- Dianet Communications, LLC has been granted, by the New York City Department of Information and Telecommunications ("DoITT"), a franchise to use City property to provide mobile telecommunications services.
Dianet Communications is a neutral host company specializing in the design, financing, building and managing of shared networks for wireless carriers. The company's networks use a Distributed Antenna System (DAS) architecture that can be located in tunnels, in buildings or outdoors. Jeff Just, President of Dianet, stated, "The granting of the New York City franchise to Dianet will benefit the customers of wireless operators by providing coverage in areas currently underserved." The antenna is significantly smaller, and therefore more discreet and unobtrusive, than traditional wireless antenna installations.
The granting of the technology franchise by the City of New York to Dianet Communications represents the City's strong desire to make the ever growing use of cellular and wi-fi services a hassle-free way of life and communications. Mr. Just says, "We at Dianet are very proud of the fact that as a company dedicated to project management in the wireless arena, our team can now present options for growth to all our wireless carrier partners." Dianet is neither owned nor controlled by any individual carrier or equipment company. Hence, Dianet is a completely neutral host for all networks and projects.
